1. Scope, controller and existing contact channels
This notice applies to personal information handled through shop.worldsbestcables.com, other WBC-controlled website pages and related direct-store customer contacts, orders, support, warranty claims and custom-cable enquiries. The identified direct-store operator and personal-data controller is Perstaff Precision Technologies (PVT) LTD, at No. 06A, Ring Road 2, KEPZ Road, Katunayake EPZ, Katunayake 11420, Sri Lanka, subject to verification of specific Perstaff group entity roles for other activities.
Privacy enquiries: webadmin@perstaff.lk. Customer support: support@worldsbestcables.com. Telephone currently published: +94 (0)11 2 265845. You may also use [Contact Us](https://shop.worldsbestcables.com/contact-us/). This notice replaces neither the separate Terms of Sale nor any legally required consent interface. Merely browsing our website does not automatically establish consent to optional processing.
Independent marketplaces, payment gateways and carriers may process data under their own roles and privacy notices. Where WBC receives information in connection with an independently managed marketplace sale, we process only data made available lawfully for authorised fulfilment, customer service, safety or legal purposes.
2. Information collected and its sources
Depending on the transaction, WBC may collect name, email, telephone number, shipping and billing addresses, country and time zone, company name, account login and preferences, product selections, order IDs, transaction status, delivery/tracking details, correspondence, custom specifications, warranty claim descriptions and supporting receipt photographs. As described in our existing published privacy notice, we may also collect the device type, IP address, cookie identifiers, browser interaction and similar diagnostic and security information when you visit our website. We receive some updated shipping/address or delivery information from couriers and other suppliers to fulfil orders.
The information comes from customer forms or communications, normal website operation, our properly contracted suppliers, couriers and, where appropriate, authorised marketplace channels. Sensitive personal data should not be included in general support messages unless requested for a legitimate reason. Customers should never email payment-card security codes or complete card details to WBC support.
3. Why and on what lawful basis we use it
We use reasonably necessary data to: (a) process and supply orders, payment confirmations, returns, warranties and custom quotations; (b) answer enquiries and support customers; (c) prevent fraud, secure the website and protect transactions; (d) manage bookkeeping, customs, tax, consumer-law and recordkeeping duties; and (e) operate and improve the website, assess reliable aggregated trends and manage permitted business communications. In jurisdictions requiring specified legal bases, these purposes are assessed respectively against contract performance or pre-contractual steps, legal obligation, legitimate interests subject to required balancing, and consent where required. We do not treat simply visiting the site as blanket consent for every processing activity.
4. Payments and external checkout
The site may redirect customers to an independent payment gateway. Cardholder information provided on that gateway is processed according to the gateway's own arrangement; WBC normally receives transaction references and settlement status needed to complete the order. The exact gateway operators and their roles, cross-border transfer mechanisms and any payment-card data accessed by WBC must be confirmed against the live checkout configuration before this notice is published. We do not publish inaccurate 'we never handle card data' assurances without confirming that architecture.
5. Shipping, payment, hosting and support recipients
WBC shares personal information only to the extent reasonably needed for permitted purposes with relevant FedEx shipping and tracking services, other contracted couriers where used, customs brokers, payment gateways, WooCommerce/hosting and website support providers, business email/customer support systems, accounting and ERP/analytics services, fraud and information-security suppliers, and professional advisers. FedEx is WBC's primary international carrier according to its current shipping description; the precise recipient for an individual shipment is confirmed by actual fulfilment. Our current live website privacy notice states that WBC does not sell customers' personal information as a business model. We will not claim that third-party cookies or marketing technologies are absent without a technical audit.
Some processors and recipients are located outside Sri Lanka. Where required, we will provide notice of overseas recipients or categories and establish appropriate transfer safeguards. Sharing for a merger or acquisition may occur subject to applicable legal duties and safeguards. Legal requests are assessed before disclosure.
6. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Essential cookies can enable cart persistence, site security, checkout and account login. Optional analytics, personalisation or advertising technologies may be used only to the extent actually deployed. A separate Cookie Policy describes categories, controls and retention. Where consent is legally required for nonessential cookies or trackers, they must not be set before effective consent and must be equally easy to reject or withdraw. Browser settings alone do not replace a legally required consent mechanism.
Before publication, the website administrator must identify and list actual categories/vendors and verify that the cookie manager blocks optional tags. This paragraph is not proof that consent tools have been configured.
7. Email and communications
Order confirmations, payment updates, delivery updates and direct responses to support requests are service messages. Promotional mail, if offered, will be sent with the consent or other legal basis permitted in the recipient's jurisdiction. You can unsubscribe using the communication's unsubscribe mechanism or contact support. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary transactional communications. Customer service communications and call recordings, if conducted, must be disclosed and managed under applicable law; this Privacy Policy does not claim that calls are recorded unless verified.
8. Retention
We retain data only as needed for the stated purposes and applicable requirements. Financial/order records may be kept for mandatory tax and audit periods; warranty records may need to be retained during WBC's 10-year warranty and a reasonable legal-claims period thereafter; support records may be held while a matter remains open; site-security logs and cookies have proportionate shorter schedules. We will maintain an internal retention schedule setting actual periods and deletion/archival controls. When no longer needed, information is deleted, de-identified or securely archived where the law requires retention.
9. Information security and incidents
We apply proportionate organisational and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including access controls, provider and staff permissions, network/security monitoring, backups and controlled recovery processes. No online service can promise absolute security. If a personal-data breach occurs, we will investigate, contain and provide notices to affected individuals or regulators when legally required. We will not disclose unnecessary sensitive details about our defences.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you reside and which privacy law applies, you may have rights to obtain privacy information; access, rectify or erase personal data; restrict or object to some processing; withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing; receive or transfer data in an available portable form; appeal or complain to a regulator; and opt out of defined sales/sharing or targeted advertising where relevant laws apply. Rights are subject to statutory conditions and exceptions, including legitimate retention for warranties, tax and fraud prevention.
Send a request to webadmin@perstaff.lk or support@worldsbestcables.com using enough information for us to verify your identity and locate the relevant records. We will respond within applicable deadlines. We will not require excessive identification, and we will not discriminate unlawfully against people exercising privacy rights.
11. Children and account eligibility
The currently published privacy notice states that WBC's website is intended for people 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. However, online purchases, contract acceptance and the exercise of privacy choices can have stricter age or parental-authority requirements depending on the visitor's jurisdiction. Users must be legally capable of making the relevant transaction or have appropriate adult authorisation where local law requires it. If we learn that children's information has been collected unlawfully, we will take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise handle it lawfully.
12. International visitors
A person's location can affect mandatory privacy rules. For UK and EEA persons, applicable GDPR transparency, legal-basis, data-subject-rights and cross-border transfer duties will be addressed, and local contact/representative obligations assessed against actual targeting and business activities. For relevant US states and Australia, applicable notice and privacy-rights obligations will be respected. In Sri Lanka, the Personal Data Protection Act and applicable amendments/commencement orders must be assessed against their actual effective legal status. WBC does not claim universal compliance merely by publishing this Policy.
13. Changes
We may change this Privacy Policy when business processes, services or law change. Material changes will receive any notice or new consent the law requires. The effective date will reflect the actual published version. We will preserve prior versions and will not misstate historical practices.
