WHY CAPACITANCE MATTERS

Keep More Of The Signal You Started With.

A passive guitar pickup is a relatively high-impedance source. Cable capacitance becomes part of that electrical system, interacting with the pickup and controls and influencing the instrument’s resonant response. As total capacitance rises, the audible result can be a greater change in high-frequency presence and response.

WBC-PRO-PEDAL is engineered at 18 pF/ft, keeping the cable contribution exceptionally low. That matters most in passive and unbuffered signal paths, where every cable segment before a low-impedance buffer contributes to the load seen by the instrument.

The goal is not to “add tone.” It is the opposite: change as little as practical.

Technical note: Once a signal is driven by a good low-impedance buffer or active output, cable capacitance is far less influential. Low capacitance is especially valuable where passive pickups feed true-bypass or otherwise unbuffered cable runs.

Low capacitance is only useful if the cable can survive a real pedalboard. WBC-PRO-PEDAL combines a fine-stranded 22 AWG oxygen-free copper core with a dense spiral shield, a conductive graphite-based layer and an ultra-flexible, UV-protected outer jacket.

The result is a cable designed to route cleanly through compact boards while providing strong electrostatic and RF noise rejection and controlling the handling noise that can occur when cable materials flex and rub against one another.

MINI BOLT was developed around a simple idea: a pedal connector should occupy as little valuable board space as possible without turning the plug itself into the weak link.

Its ultra-compact geometry uses a stainless-steel outer body for mechanical strength while keeping brass in the electrical connectivity path. The tip and internal connectivity section are precision-machined from brass as an integrated design, reducing unnecessary interfaces and improving mechanical robustness.

The nickel-plated MINI BOLT is CNC-machined and hand-finished for a compact, durable connector intended for years of real use.

A connector that projects too far from the jack forces pedals farther apart. MINI BOLT keeps the body extremely compact: the supplied dimensional reference shows an approximately 15 mm body diameter with an 8 mm low-profile head.

Finished cable length is measured tip-to-tip, from the tip of one MINI BOLT connector to the tip of the other. Use tip-to-tip distance when planning the spacing between pedal jacks.

Why does 18 pF/ft capacitance matter?

MINI BOLT was specifically designed for very compact jack spacing. Its small body can accommodate layouts where larger pancake-style connectors overlap or collide. As with any hardware, check the physical clearance around unusually recessed or obstructed jacks.

Can MINI BOLT replace a straight TS plug?

In many installations, yes. Its very small right-angle head can fit into spaces where a conventional right-angle connector would be too bulky and where players would otherwise resort to a straight plug. Actual fit depends on the equipment’s jack location and surrounding hardware.
